Heated Agate: Natural Enhancement by Heat

Agate is a natural stone prized for its unique patterns and varied colors. To bring out new colors, agate undergoes heat treatment, also known as "heating."

Why heat agate?

• Color enhancement: Heating can intensify the natural colors of agate, making them more vibrant and attractive. For example, a brownish or grayish agate can transform into an agate with deeper shades of red, orange, or blue.
• Color homogeneity: Heat treatment allows for a more uniform color across the entire stone, eliminating variations and dull areas.
• Pattern revelation: Heating can also highlight the characteristic patterns and bands of agate, making the natural designs more distinct and visible.

How does the heating process work?

The agate heating process is carried out under controlled conditions:

1. High temperature: Agate is heated to high temperatures, often between 300 and 500 degrees Celsius. The exact temperature depends on the desired color and effect.
2. Controlled duration: The stone is kept at this temperature for a specific period, varying from a few hours to several days, depending on the needs.
