Collection: Fire Agate

Fire Agate gets its name from the Achates River in Sicily, Italy. Belonging to the Agate family, itself a sub-family of Chalcedony, Fire Agate is closely related to quartz. This stone is mainly formed in volcanic regions, where it crystallizes from lava. It is mostly found in Mexico and the southwestern United States, particularly in Arizona and California. Its characteristic color is a flamboyant red. Mined since antiquity, Fire Agate has traditionally been associated with various gods and goddesses.
